Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi has said that a new Pope should be elected before Easter.
The Vatican spokesman, as cited by Rai News 24, informed that the Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pointiff will have to be convoked in March 2013.
Earlier on Monday, Benedict XVI announced that he would resign on February 28, saying that he is too old to continue at the age of 85.
Pope Benedict, 85, served for eight years, succeeding John Paul II.
