Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov has told reporters that he sees "nothing disturbing" in the document exposing Prime Minister Boyko Borisov's past as an informant for the Central Services for Combating Organized Crime.

Claims that Borisov used to be a secret agent codenamed "Buddha" emerged before the presidential and local elections in 2011, the Interior Minister pointed out.

"There is nothing disturbing in what has emerged," he claimed.

Tsvetanov's statement came in response to a leaked document released by the site for investigative journalism Bivol.bg on Sunday, which reveals that current Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, was recruited in the past as a secret agent of the Central Services for Combatting Organized Crime, CSBOP back in 1996. Borisov's alleged codename was Buddha.

The proposal for Borisov's recruitment was based on his "decriminalizing behavior," and his suspected ties with organized crime.
