Light Earthquake Registered in SW Bulgaria

An earthquake with a magnitude of 2 points on the Richter scale has been registered in southwestern Bulgaria Wednesday evening.
According to the European Seismology Center, the quake had an epicenter with a depth of 14 km. The epicenter is located 6 km west of the town of Petrich in the Blagoevgrad region, and 144 km south from the capital Sofia.
According to the Geophysics Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, BAS, the magnitude was 2.4 on the Richter scale, and the epicenter at a depth of 16 km was in Macedonia, near the Bulgarian border.
There are no reports of casualties or damage. The shock was not felt by local residents.
