Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov has firmly declared his view that prostitution should not be decriminalized in the country.

"As a Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister, politician and a public figure, I will definitely oppose the legalization of sexual exploitation in Bulgaria," Tsvetanov told a conference on Tuesday.

Tsvetanov admitted that Bulgaria has been among the countries exporting prostitutes.

"It turns out that some gorgeous, beautiful girls we have seen on the catwalk have been forced to prostitute themselves," he said.

Tsvetanov claimed that controversial Bulgarian businessman and ex-secret agent Alexey Petrov has been involved in organizing a prostitution ring.
