The Dutch government has not come up with a stance on the Schengen bids of Bulgaria and Romania, according to a media statement of the Dutch Embassy in Sofia.

Commenting on a series of publications in Bulgarian media outlets concerning the expansion of the Schengen zone, the Dutch Embassy in Sofia informs that the Dutch government has no stance on the matter yet.

"The decision of the Dutch government will be made in close cooperation with the other member states before the Justice and Home Affairs Council on March 7-8 2013," the Dutch diplomatic mission in Sofia informs.

The Dutch Embassy in Sofia notes that it will keep Bulgarian media posted about developments on the matter.

Earlier on Wednesday, Bulgarian online and broadcast media announced that the Dutch government would block a discussion of the Schengen bids of Bulgaria and Romania at the Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) Council in March 2013.
