Bulgaria's best tennis player Grigor Dimitrov secured a win in his Brisbane International opener against American Brian Baker.

Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov will face second seed Milos Raonic in the second round after defeating American Brian Baker 6-3, 7-6(8) in 82 minutes.

The 21-year-old Dimitrov and 22-year-old Raonic have squared off once before, with Canadian Raonic prevailing in straight sets in Stockholm in 2011.
