Bulgarian Deputy PM Tsvetan Tsvetanov and Serbian PM Ivica Dacic, who are both the Interior Ministers of their countries, have opened a joint police and customs call center.

The Bulgarian-Serbina police and customs center was opened at the Kalotina border crossing in Bulgaria on Wednesday.

Tsvetanov and Dacic expressed their satisfaction over the opening of the center and joint activities in combat against terrorism and crime, Serbian news service B92 reported.

"The opening of the call center is a proof that the work we did in the last several years on the exchange of information aimed at combating organized crime has been completed nicely," Tsvetanov stated, and added that the EU "highly appreciates Serbia and Bulgaria's joint work".

Dacic noted that the center was a proof that the police and customs could work together.

"Both countries should take a step forward in the next several months and years, meaning we need to build new border crossings so it will be easier for people to cross the border and our goal is to have no border here in the future," he underscored.

The Serbian prime minister stated that the "aim of his term in office is to build strong tied between Serbia and Bulgaria which are very important for the Balkans and the entire region".
