Bulgaria has seen a 7% increase year-on-year in the sales of ICT hardware in the third quarter of 2012, according to the "ICT Trade Bulgaria 2012" report of CBN - Pannoff, Stoytcheff & Co., a Bulgarian consultancy.

The total supply of computer and communications hardware in Bulgaria in Q3 2012,
including desktop and mobile computer systems, printers, peripherals, video devices, components, power supplies, communications equipment, including base stations and smart phones reached EUR 147 M.

Bulgaria's ICT hardware exports in July-September 2012, however, declined down to EUR 40.6 M.

Of all the segments in Q3'12 - business desktop and mobile computing systems performed very well but the supply of computer components remains the most stable segment of the ICT hardware market in Bulgaria, according to CBN - Pannoff, Stoytcheff & Co.

For the first nine months of 2012 Bulgaria's sales of technological hardware reached EUR 402.3 M, a decline of 2% year-on-year, with communication hardware having a significant contribution to the decline.

"It is worth noting that unlike the global trend of a slight increase in the average price of mobile phones - the biggest market for technology hardware in Bulgaria behaves exactly the opposite way – registering an increase in numbers and a decline in volume," the report said.
