Prince William, Catherine Expecting Baby

Prince William and Kate Middleton married on April 29 with a mix of glittering pageantry and spontaneity, kissing twice in front of a sea of revellers and breathing new life into Britain`s monarchy.

Prince William's wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is pregnant, St James's Palace has announced.

Prime Minister David Cameron said on Twitter: "I'm delighted by the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a baby."

In a statement on the couple's website, they said: "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby."

Members of the royal family and the duchess's family, the Middletons, are also said to be delighted.

A spokesman said the duchess has been admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in central London with acute morning sickness and is expected to stay for several days, BBC informs.

The royal baby will be born third in line and in direct succession to the throne.

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge have previously spoken of their desire to start a family in the future.
