The Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Ministry is holding Sunday its first ever "open doors" day under the motto "The Foreign Ministry from the Inside."

In a press release, the Ministry invites everyone to drop by and receive an answer to questions such as how the huge building looks from the inside; what do the minister, his deputies and spokesperson do; where is the office of the minister; what is Charge d'Affaires, how many Embassies does Bulgaria have now; who is the first Bulgarian ambassador; how can one become diplomat, and many others.

The initiators say they aim to showcase their building and the interesting and responsible job of being a diplomat.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikolay Mladenov is accepting visitors in his office while at 1 pm, the Ministry's spokesperson, Vessela Cherneva, will hold a briefing to answer questions from attendees, along with Mladenov.

Several stands have informational displays about the priorities of Bulgarian diplomacy such as the EU, the Balkans, and the Middle East.

There will be also a recreation of a meeting of the UN Security Council, organized by the Diplomacy Institute, which is open to all. The topic is "Possible Solutions of the Syrian Conflict."

The finals of the national "Debates" contest are also scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Winners will receive their awards in person from Minister Mladenov.

There are guided tours of the building on the hour, highlighting the arts collection and the history of the institution.
