Bulgarians Advised against Traveling to US East Coast

Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry has strongly recommended that Bulgarian citizens refrain from travelling to the East Coast of the United States, which is most strongly affected by the growth of superstorm Sandy.

The Foreign Ministry has reminded that airports at Newark and Teterboro are closed and more than 10 000 flights have been cancelled. A warning is in effect for October 30 and 31 for south-eastern Canada – the provinces of Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.

Bulgarian citizens who are in the affected areas should strictly obey the instructions of local authorities and lay in provisions of water, food or any other supplies essential for a minimum 72 hours in the event of evacuation or power cuts.
