Bulgarian PM and ruling GERB party chair Boyko Borisov has reacted to praises lavished upon him by members of the GERB "Elders" organization.

"I will be forgotten, but highways and bridges will remain," commented Borisov for journalists Sunday, refering to the infrastructure projects his cabinet has made into a top priority.

Earlier GERB "Elders" chair Nikolay Andreev had lauded the PM as one building a modern Bulgaria.

"We extend our gratitude to the man who is a veritable builder of a new Bulgaria - an exceptionally worthy man, who with his apostolic efforts built the structurs of our party GERB," said Andreev.

"What we are building is of use to the people and Bulgarians will remember it for decades ahead - the Sofia subway, the highways, the railways, the administrative services," reacted Borisov.

For the record, the Borisov cabinet has not built a single meter of railroads, and has embarked on a privatization and reduction campaign regarding the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) company.

In his Sunday statement, the Bulgarian PM did not fail to recall that any setbacks to his cabinet's policies are allegedly due to state debts and other payments accumulated by preceding cabinets, of which new ones "continue to pop up."
