Bulgarian President Embarks on Visit to Israel, Palestine

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev is visiting Israel on Monday and Tuesday, accompanied by Foreign Minister Nikoly Mladenov.

Plevneliev and Mladenov are scheduled to meet Israel's Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman at 12:30 pm in Jerusalem, after the president holds a joint news conference at the Knesset with Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin.

Earlier on Monday, Plevneliev will meet with his Israeli counterpart, Shimon Peres, Arutz Sheva informs. The two will deliver statements and an agreement on cooperation in the field of Holocaust remembrance will be signed.

President Plevneliev will visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial institution around 3:00 pm, and is scheduled to plant a tree about an hour later, in the Grove of Nations in the Keren Kayemet L'Yisrael-Jewish National Fund's Jerusalem Forest.

Plevneliev's visit to the Palestinian Authority will start on Wednesday, October 24, with talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Plevneliev will pay respects visiting the grave of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.
