The company which will operate Danube Bridge 2 will be based in Bulgaria, according to Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski.

In a Friday interview cited by Darik radio he said that it was good news for the country because the company would create scores of jobs and would pay taxes in Bulgaria.

Moskovski added that a Bulgaria-based company operating the second bridge connecting Vidin and Calafat would also boost the country's image.

Bulgaria's Transport Minister said that the facility would be inspected on Wednesday.

He claimed that the refinishing works on Danube Bridge 2 would be completed by end-2012, including the application of the waterproofing and the asphalt pavement.

Moskovski specified, however, that the progress of the work depended on the weather.

He informed that Romania was to nominate a team of representatives to negotiate with Bulgaria the establishment of the company that would operate Danube Bridge 2.
