Bulgaria and Vietnam are developing fruitful cooperation, but could still do more, stated the finance ministers of the two countries.

"I am delighted with the progress inthe relations between our two countries, and Bulgaria will create the conditions requisite for deepening those relations," stated Bulgarian FinMin Simeon Djankov, who is on an official visit to Hanoi.

"Vietnam has always given a special significance to strengthening friendship and cooperation with countries from Central and Eastern Europe, including Bulgaria," stated his Vietnamese counterpart Vuong Dinh Hue.

By end of September, Bulgaria has invested in 8 projects in Vietnam what amounts to USD 30 M, according to datea by Hue.

"Yet this number does not live up to the potential for cooperation between our two countries," added the Vietnamese Minister of Finance.

In particular, he said that Vietnam hopes to attract Bulgarian investments in the field of road construction.

According to data by Sinhua, trade between the two countries amounts to USD 70 M for 2011, and USD 35 M for the first half of 2012.
