Ruling Party MP Named New Bulgarian Deputy Parliament Chair

Bulgaria's ruling centrist-right GERB has nominated one of its lawmakers, Menda Stoyanova, for Deputy Chair of the Parliament.

Stoyanova is currently the chair of the parliamentary budget committee. She is a former director of the tax office in the city of Plovdiv.

She is to substitute Deputy Parliament Chair Anastas Anastasov, who was nominated by GERB to sit on the country's Constitutional Court.

Wednesday was the last day for Bulgarian lawmakers to present their nominations for Constitutional Court members.
