A total of 290 kg of cocaine have been stolen from a judicial storage facility in the Spanish city of Cadiz.

A gang bored a hole through an adjoining building, disabled the alarms and redirected the security cameras and then stole the cocaine, El Pais informs.

Because of the robbers' intimate knowledge of the security set-up, investigators believe they are dealing with a specialized gang that may also be responsible for previous similar raids.

According to the Bulgarian Btv and 24 Chasa daily, the stolen cocaine was part of the huge 3000 shipment that was captured onboard of the Bulgarian Sveti Nikolay ship off the coast of Spain in August.

A total of 31 sailors, including 21 Bulgarians, were arrested onboard the cocaine-loaded   ship. They have been left in custody by the Spanish court until the investigation of the matter is wrapped up.
