Greece ranks first by life expectancy in Southeast Europe, according to recent data of the United Nations.

Greeks have an average life expectancy of 79,5 years, followed by Slovenians with 77,9 years, Hungarians with 73,3 years, Bulgarians with 73 years, Romanians with 72,5 years, and Turkish nationals with 71,8 years.

Of the remaining countries on the Western Balkans, Albanians live longest, while Serbians live shortest, according to the UN survey.

The average life expectancy in Albania is 76,4 years (73,4 for men and 79,7 for women), while Serbia has an average life expectancy of 74 (41,7 for men and 76,3 for women).

Croatians have an average life expectancy of 75,7 (72,3 for men and 79,2 for women), while the life expectancy in Bosnia and Herzegovina is 74,9 years (72,2 for men and 77,4 for women).

Montenegro has an average life expectancy of 74,5 years (72,4 for men and 76,8 for women) while in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia the average life expectancy is 74,2 years (71,8 for men and 76,6 for women).
