Bulgarian, Romanian Cities to Develop Joint Tourist Routes

The Nature and Animals Protection Center in the Northern Bulgarian town of Dobrich and the Romanian city of Constanta's Natural Sciences Museum Complex are to develop five joint tourist routes.

The initiative is part of a project aiming to enhance the region's tourist infrastructure, Dobrich Mayor Detelina Nikolova has told Bulgarian reporters.

Tourists will have the chance to visit the zoos in both Dobrich and Constanta, Cape Kaliakra, the Danube Delta, the "Palace" complex in Balchik and various other sights and landmarks.

Nicolae Papadopol, Scientific Director of the Constanta's Natural Sciences Museum Complex, has expressed his certainty that the joint initiative will attract many tourists in the cross-border region.

A total of EUR 1 434 800 has been invested in the zoos in Constanta and Dobrich with the support of the EU Romania – Bulgaria Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2007-2013, it was also made clear.
