Former Bulgarian football referee Momchil Vraykov has been arrested in the city of Plovdiv on allegations of large-scale bank card draining worth millions of euros.

Vraykov was detained on a European arrest warrant by the Bulgarian authorities after being declared wanted by the Supreme Court in Dublin.

The 39-year-old former referee has a trial against him in Ireland, on allegations of bank card draining.

Vraykov was arrested in February 2011 in Dublin in connection with this, but was released due to lack of sufficient evidence.

A second arrest followed in Antwerp in April this year on charges of bank card forgery and participation in an organized crime network.
