Google Celebrates 14th Birthday

Google is celebrating its 14th birthday on Thursday.

This year's celebratory doodle has an animation of chocolate cake with candles that gets nibbled to form the company's logo.

Until 2005, the search engine giant celebrated its birthday on September 7, three days after the date it filed for incorporation (September 4, 1998).

However, in 2005 the search engine giant opted September 27 to celebrate its birthday.

Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin with the objective "to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful".
