39 Products Awarded Gold Medals at International Technical Fair in Plovdiv

39 products of Bulgarian and foreign companies won gold medals at the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv taking place September 24-29.

Three products received innovation awards from the Bulgarian Association of Electrical Engineering and Electronics (BASSEL), according to reports of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA).

According to BASSEL Chair Rumen Atanasov, the three products are at an exceptional technological level and are a pride for Bulgaria.

Gold medals are awarded for innovative products meeting European quality standards.

Of all foreign participants in the 2012 edition of the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv, German companies are performing best, scoring a total of six awards.

One German firm received a medal for a swimming pool pump designed in line with an EU Directive slated to come into force in 2015.

A Bulgarian company was awarded two medals for software products.

Two medals went to a Bulgarian company for its modular hybrid system using wind, sun, diesel and bio mass to produce electricity.

According to representatives of the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv, as cited by dnevnik.bg, the product is an innovation on a global scale which won a gold medal and an innovation award because it was designed and completed in Bulgaria.

Over 90 innovations, of which 11 global and 12 European, are on display this year at the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv.
