Bulgaria to Appoint Honorary Consul in Ukraine's Lviv

Bulgaria is to open an honorary consulate in the Ukrainian city of Lviv, the Balkan country's Cabinet has announced.

The consulate will encompass the oblasts of Lviv, Zakarpattie and Ternopil.

Ukrainian businessman Viktor Notevskiy has been appointed as honorary consul in Lviv.

The Bulgarian government has noted that the new honorary consulate will help the country's embassy in Kiyv to boost the Bulgarian-Ukrainian cooperation in the fields of education, science and trade and will help Bulgarians living in Western Ukraine maintain their national identity.

Bulgaria already has an honorary consulate in Donetsk.
