Bulgarian President Calls Up National Security Council

Bulgarian President, Rosen Plevneliev, is calling Friday a meeting of the Consultative Council on National Security, KSNS.

The news was reported by the presidential press center.

The meeting, held in the Presidential Office building in downtown Sofia, will focus on a public debate for the Bills for Military Intelligence, for National Security Services, NSO, for the State Intelligence Agency, and for the Management and Functioning of the System for Protecting National Security. Participants will be given the opportunity to voice their opinion on the above Bills.

Under the law, the Speaker of the Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Defense, of Interior, of Foreign Affairs, and of Finance, the Chief of Defense and the chairs of all parliamentary represented parties are members of KSNS.

The Chief Secretary of the Interior, the Secretary of the Security Council at the cabinet, the Director of Military Information Services at the Defense Ministry, the Director of the National Intelligence Services, the Director of the State Agency for National Security, DANS, the Director of NSO, other members of the Cabinet, NGO representatives, and security experts have all been invited and will be in attendance.
