The police in Milan, Italy, have allegedly arrested a Bulgarian, whose name has not been announced, but it is said that he is from the western town of Dupnitsa and has a guilty verdict.

The description matches the one of one of Interpol-wanted convicted mobsters Angel Hristov and Plamen Galev, better known as the Galevi brothers. The individual in question also has an Interpol warrant.

It further remains unknown if the description matches Plamen or Angel, according to bTV.

However, the Standard daily writes that they have approached to Interior Ministry on the matter and were told that the detainee has nothing to do with Galevi brothers. He was arrested while walking in Milan with another Bulgarian and will soon be extradited to his country.

After escaping justice, Galevi became legendary, regularly stirring rumors about their whereabouts s and wealth.

It was recently reported that they have laundered millions of dollars in the English Channel, local media reports.

Guernsey, a British Crown dependency in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy, is a hot spot for criminals all over the world, including Bulgaria, as local laws make it very difficult to prove the offence, according to Bulgarian investigators, cited by 24 Hours daily.

The Bulgarian authorities are said to be hunting down for the pair, well known to be top mafia lords, failed MP Wannabes and benefactors of Dupnitsa, together with the cooperation of FBI.

The notorious pair was sentenced by Bulgaria's Supreme Court to serve five years in jail at the beginning of May on racketeering charges.

A few days later the two underground bosses vanished and were declared wanted by the local authorities and Interpol or at least this is what Bulgaria's Interior Ministry claims.

Meanwhile the two crime bosses were charged with money laundering, worth BGN 35. 5. M.

Previous reports said the Galevi brothers entered Greece with fake passports, riding one of their luxurious cars, and flew to South Africa and the Seychelles.

Even before the court trial it was a public secret that the Galevi brothers are mafia bosses who hold the citizens of Dupnitsa on a leash as their jobs and prosperity depend on the two burly former policemen with shady background and businesses.

They have managed to capitalize on the weakness of the state and the local authorities, merging with them and making out of Dupnitsa a stronghold of their own, called Galevgrad.
