Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister, and Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, personally helped Sunday in rescuing two people who were involved in a traffic accident.

According to the police, the accident happened around 10:30 am on the main road connecting the two Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas, between the village of Banya and the resort town of Obzor, when a car with two Russian citizens veered of the road and overturned. Only the road barrier prevented the automobile from falling in the steep ditch.

When the cortege of the Minister passed near the scene, they alerted local police and then stopped to help the trapped people.

"We did what everyone should do when one notices a traffic accident," Tsvetanov said, adding the wet road was the most likely cause.

The accident caused a congestion and the Minister in person, along with several other people from his team, pushed the car on the side of the road to free the traveling lanes.

Tsvetanov was on his way from Varna to Burgas. The accident caused a 30-minute delay in his Burgas agenda.
