Both Kosovo and Bulgaria will profit if Bulgaria lowers visa fees and road taxes to facilitate traffic, stated Kosovo Minister of Interior Bayram Rexhepi, who is on an official visit to Sofia Saturday.

"Many tourists and businesses from Kosovo would come to Bulgaria, but are hindered by those high fees," said Rexhepi in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio.

The Kosovo Interior Minister further thanked Bulgaria, which according to him has "done a lot" for Kosovo after the 1999 war.

"Kosovo is grateful that Bulgaria became one of the first countries to recognize its independence," said Rexhepi.

"Our relations are very good. But we must do more to broaden business contacts and increase the volume of trade," added he.

According to Rexhepi, Kosovo has succeeded in creating working instutions during the time of the international monitoring on its independence, which officially terminated Monday.

"What is in addition very important to us is the fact that we succeeded in building trust in our EU and NATO partners that we will be able to achieve our goals as a state, in particular to strictly observe human rights and ethnic tolerance," explained he.
