5 hooligans were detained, with 3 of them tried and sentenced Saturday, following Friday night's Brazil 2014 football world championship qualifier between Italy and Bulgaria.

The Sofia District Court sentenced Saturday 3 of the hooligans, banning them from sports events for two years.

Two of them have also to stay under arrest for 10 days, while the third will be held 15 days.

The two other hooligans, who are underage, have been returned to their families and will be tried later.

The five were detained by police ahead of the Friday game, after they engaged in a fight, being supporters of rival teams Levski and CSKA.

Two policemen have been hit by projectiles in the skirmish.

The Friday qualifier between Bulgaria and Italy ended with a 2:2 draw.
