Bulgaria to Bid for 2018 Volley World Championship Host

Bulgaria will run to host the 2018 FIVB World Volleyball Championship, either for men or women, announced Bulgarian Volleyball Federation president Dancho Lazarov Wednesday.

He confirmed for the Bulgarian News Agency that talks have already been conducted by Ary Graca, who will chair FIVB after 2012.

"Ary Graca's support gave us the courage to present our candidacy," said Lazarov.

He added that until 2018 Bulgaria plans to construct sports facilities capable of hosting the tournament in the cities of Burgas, Plovdiv and Ruse, apart from already extant halls in Sofia and Varna.
