Berbatov Undergoes Fulham Medical, Set to Sign Contract

Fulham are about to snap up striker Dimitar Berbatov, as coach Martin Jol has revealed the Manchester United player is undergoing a medical.

On Wednesday, Berbatov made a surprising move by snubbing Italy's Fiorentina, as his transfer there seemed completely sure.

The Florence football team blasted the Bulgarian, saying he did not deserve their jersey, and accused the Turin-based Juventus of trying to steal the player under their nose.

Juventus Director General Giuseppe Marotta rejected the accusations, saying his team made the offer only after learning that Berbatov has decided to not join Fiorentina. Marotta was the one to reveal the interest from the London club, giving family reasons as grounds for Berbatov's decision in favor of Fulham.

Berbatov, shared the Premier League Golden Boot award with his former Manchester United teammate Carlos Tevez in the Premier League's 2010-11 season, as he netted a total of 20 goals.

He had just 12 Premier League appearances in the 2011-12 season, still managing to score 7 goals.
