A Code Orange alert due to dangerous heat has been declared for Saturday for 24 Bulgarian districts.

Temperatures are expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius, according to Bulgaria's National Institute of meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).

Temperatures of 39-41 C are expected in 24 of Bulgaria's 28 districts, including Vidin, Montana, Blagoevgrad, Ruse, Kardzhali, Haskovo, Pleven, Silistra, Burgas and Varna.

Bulgaria's four other districts, including Pernik, Sofia City, Sofia District, and Smolyan, are under a Code Yellow weather warning, with temperatures expected to reach up to 37 C.

At the Black Sea coast, the weather will be sunny with maximum temperatures of around 30 C, light east-southeast winds and sea water temperatures of 25-26 C.
