Lots of seagulls have moved away from Bulgaria’s Southern Black Sea coast, according to a local media report.

They have decided to move inland and invade the capital Sofia, where there is an abundance of garbage to feed on, the Blitz tabloid has argued.

Indeed, seagulls have been frequently witnessed in the Bulgarian capital over the past few years.

The seabirds have been now replaced by flocks of hungry crows along the country’s Southern seaside.

The crow population has grown along the Northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, too, according to experts. However, that has not affected the local seagull population significantly.

The increased number of seagulls in inland Bulgaria has affected negatively the population of sparrows in the big cities, Bulgarian media also believe.
