Bratoev has achieved an average of 11.43 perfect sets in a game.

Donald Suxho of the US is second with 10.14 and Bruno Rezende of Brazil is third with 10.03 sets.

About a month ago, Bratoev became also the best player and setter at the World League in Sofia.

Tsvetan Sokolov, also from the Bulgarian men volleyball team, has been ranked the second best scorer at the Olympic Games. Maxim Mikhaylov from Russia is first, and has also been declared best spiker.

Max Gunthor from Germany is the best blocker, while Cristian Savani from Italy is the best server.

On the last day of the Games, the Bulgarian national men volleyball team suffered a dramatic loss against Italy in the battle for the bronze and ranked fourth.

After winning the silver in Moscow in 1980 against the USSR, the fourth Olympic ranking is the biggest Bulgarian success along with another 4th place at the Munich Games.

With their outstanding performance and sportsmanship, the Bulgarian volleyball players became the country's Olympic heroes.
