Bulgaria's Stanka Zlateva, a five-time world wrestling champion, reached the finals of the Olympic Games in London on what may prove to be one of the most successful days in her faboulous career.

Zlateva's victory over Spain's Maider Unda in the semi-finals secured her a place in the finals and a silver medal in the worst scenario.

Earlier in the day in 72 kilograms, Zlateva defeated Jenny Fransson of Sweden convincingly 3:0 after winning against world bronze medalist Vasilisa Marzaliuk of Belarus in a tough opening match up.

In an incredible run of victories Zlateva beat Annabel Laure Ali (Cameroon) 3-1.

Hristova, who has never won Olympic gold, will attempt to redeem herself for the disappointment she suffered four years ago in Beijing when she settled for silver.

The much expected final is later on Thursday, at 10 pm Bulgarian time.
