Borisov Asks Cameron about 'Iranian Connection' in Bulgarian Terror Act

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has asked his UK counterpart David Cameron for details about the version made public by the British government and other states that Iran and the pro-Iranian group Hezbollah are behind the July 18 terrorist attack in Bulgaria's Burgas.

This was made clear by Borisov himself after he met with the British Prime Minister Cameron in London late Tuesday night, BNR reported.

A total of 5 Israeli tourists and 1 Bulgarian were killed on July 18, 2012, by an explosion at the Burgas Airport after an alleged suicide bomber – or a mule – according to some versions – brought in explosives on a tourist bus bound for the Sunny Beach resort.

Borisov and Cameron's talks were dominated by the cooperation in counter terrorism and security affairs as well as the prospects for deepening of the economic ties, according to the official statements.

After the meeting, the Bulgarian PM did state that David Cameron as well as senior Israeli officials have declared that they have information that Iran and Hezbollah are involved in the Burgas Bus Bombing.

"We haven't received any such information to date. I asked David Cameron to provide it to me if he has it because, I repeat, these are very strong accusations," the Bulgarian PM is quoted as saying regarding the alleged "Iranian connection" in the Burgas Airport terrorist attack.

"I have asked [everybody] once again not to make any kinds of conclusions. As of today, we still have no information about the bomber... In this case, we have his head, face, perfectly preserved, we have a DNA profile and fingerprints. And nowhere in the databases around the world is there any information about this person," Borisov added.

He and Cameron have also discussed the possibility of having agents of Bulgaria's State National Security Agency DANS be trained by the British intelligence.
