Strong Day 10 for Bulgarian Athletes at London Olympics

Monday, August 6, which is the tenth day of the London Olympics, is expected to be very important for a number of Bulgarian athletes.

The Bulgarian national men volleyball team will face Italy at 4:45 pm Bulgarian time in a game from pool A.

At 12:45 pm, female Bulgarian shot putter, Radoslava Mavrodieva, will enter the Olympic race, while Ivet Lalova will take part in the 200-meter sprint series at 9:20 pm after failing to qualify for the 100-meter finals.

Miroslav Kirchev starts in the canoe-kayak 1 000-meter series at 11:30 am.

There is also the much-anticipated rings final from the artistic gymnastic competition where Bulgaria will be represented by legendary Yordan Yovchev, 39, a veteran who is taking part in his sixth Olympic Games.

Ivo Angelov and Hristo Marinov will compete in the 60-kg and 84-kg categories of the Greco-Roman wrestling contest.

Anton Rizov will represent Bulgaria in the 50-meter rifle shooting, which begins at 11 am.

Stoyka Petrova will take part in the women's boxing quarterfinals in the 51-kg category at 4:45 pm.
