Greek police reportedly fear a terror attack against Israeli tourists of the kind that was staged in Bulgaria's Black Sea city of Burgas on July 18.

The July 18 bus bombing at the Burgas airport killed 7, including 5 Israeli tourists, the Bulgarian bus driver and a suspected suicide bomber.

According to reports of Greek newspaper Proto Thema, as cited by the Focus news agency, the worries escalated a few days before the visit of Israeli President Shimon Peres.

A publication of Greek newspaper Elefteros Typos says that the local police are on high alert for a possible terror attack.

The newspaper claims that the Greek intelligence services are keeping constant touch with their Israeli counterparts from the Mossad.

Greek press provides a classified document of the Greek police listing the measures that are to be taken to avoid a terrorist incident.

Israeli President Shimon Peres is to arrive in Athens on August 6 and stay until August 9.
