Bulgarian boxer, Alexander Alexandrov, secured Saturday the fifth victory in a row for the Bulgarian boxing team at the London 2012 Olympics and is now on his way to compete for a medal.
The Bulgarian won in the 49-kg category against Jonghun Shin from South Korea with 15-14.
Shin is a silver medal holder from the World Championship in Baku in 2011 and was ranked as the number one contender for Olympic gold.
Specialized sports editions write that the 27-year-old Bulgarian scored one of the biggest upsets seen in London so far.
With his excellent play, Alexandrov qualified for the light flyweight quarterfinals on August 8.
The captain of the Bulgarian national boxing team Detelin Darakliev and another outstanding Bulgarian boxer, Tervel Poulev, also scored victories earlier in the Games.
