A Bulgarian court has sentenced to thirty years in jail a 20-year-old man, who confessed to the brutal murder of an 11-year-old boy last year.

Hristo Sechinski, nicknamed "The Cobra" heard his verdict on Wednesday in the northeastern Bulgarian city of Shumen after making full confessions, hoping to strike a deal with the prosecutors.

Presiyan Ivanov was found dead with multiple stab wounds in an unfinished building near the house-museum Pancho Vladigerov in September 2011. Presiyan went out to play the previous day and failed to come home by 22:00 o'clock as he had promised.

The murderer was a sexual abuse victim as a child. He knew the victim and is suffering from a psychiatric illness. He has been treated in a local mental institution.

In the court room on Wednesday, Sechinski begged the judges to send him serve his sentence at a mental hospital, not in prison and threatened to commit suicide if his request is not respected.
