Black Sea Claims 3 Lives in Southeast Bulgaria

Three people have drowned in one day along Bulgaria's Southern Black Sea coast, the regional police directorate in the city of Burgas announced Saturday.

All three victims are Bulgarians on seaside vacations, and perished in three unrelated incidents on Friday in the Burgas District, the police information said.

One of them, a 22-year-old native of Burgas, drowned swimming away from a beach near the city.

In the second incident, a 54-year-old man from Sofia, who was on vacation with his family, drowned at the Arkutino beach near the town of Primorsko.

In the third incident, a 58-year-old woman from Sofia drowned near the beach near Burgas's Sarafovo quarter.

The police have urged all holidaymakers to be cautious when swimming, and to obey strictly the instructions of the lifeguards.
