Fireмen keep fighting the wildfire in the Sakar Mountain in southeastern Bulgaria for a third day in a row.
The fire broke out Thursday afternoon in a field located between the municipalities of Topolovgrad and Galabovo. The blaze was triggered by a tractor which caught fire while working in the field.
Two helicopters were sent Friday afternoon and their help was still insufficient.
Some 300 people are taking part in battling the flames, but the effort is hampered by the high temperatures and mountainous terrain. The fire rescue services in the city of Haskovo inform that helicopters will be used once again Saturday.
The fire has affected over 3 500 decares of land.
So far, no victims or injured have been reported and there is no danger about the local population.
The fire has been isolated and has moved to lower elevations, giving hope it could be extinguished Saturday.
