Top US MP Blames Iran for Bulgaria Terror Attack

US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee chair Mike Rogers stated that Iran is responsible for last week's terror bombing in Bulgaria that claimed the lives of 7.

"I believe there were certainly elements of Hezbollah and I believe it was under the direction of their masters in Iran," stated the Republican from Michigan, as quoted by The Hill congressional paper.

As the edition points out, this is the highest-ranking US official who has assigned blame for the attack to Iran.

On the very day of the suicide bombing last Wednesday, top Israeli statesmen already pinted fingers to Hezbollah and Iran.

Bulgaria and the US have not yet officially accused any party to have perpetrated the attack.

"I think the president needs to call Iran on the carpet very publicly and tell them what we know," Rogers said.

"This is his time to stand up and do something bold," added he, as quoted by the Hill.

As the newspaper also adds, Rogers's statement is significant also because as a chair of the House Intelligence Committee he has access to massive intelligence information.
