Ireland initially considered to take advantage of the option to extend the restrictions for one year, but over the week the government has decided to take them off altogether.

Ireland thus becomes the 20th country from the EU and EEA to allow all access for Bulgarians to is job market, alongside Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
