Tree Falls on Cafe, Blocks Traffic in Bulgarian Capital

A poplar tree collapsed onto the tables of a cafe in Bulgarian capital Sofia and blocked traffic on the central Bacho Kiro Str.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the random accident, the three customers being present on the outdoor tables only suffering a temporary scare.

The fallen tree, which was growing in a house yard, protruded on the nearby street, blocking the movement of trams No. 20, 22 and 23.

Sofia Municipality teams are currently removing it from the site. The reason for the collapse appers to be that the tree was dead and rotten.
