The party is not over for those Europeans who want to go on drinking tours in Bulgaria despite the country's ambitious plans to crack down on its booming alcohol tourism.

"There is no point in banning the sale and consumption of alcohol in Bulgaria's coastal resorts. Still it is true that "alcohol tourism" often gets a little out of control and this is not good," Economy and Tourism Minister Delyan Dobrev told the national radio on Sunday.

The minister disagreed that alcohol tourism is all the most popular resort of Sunny Beach is known for, though admitting many young people go there on binging sprees.

Over the last two years there have been several incidentsĀ of tourists falling to their deaths from hotel balconies after nights out drinking.
