Bulgaria Sends Unit to Help Tame Wildfire in Greece

Bulgaria will send a helicopter to aid in quenching the forest fire that broke out near Greek capital Athens Saturday.
Sunday the helicopter staffed by Airforce 28 personnel and loaded with firefighting equipment will fly out to Greece.
European Aid Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva has had a phone conversation with Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov and informed him that the EU's civil protection mechanism has been activated.
Chief commissar Nikolay Nikolov, head of Bulgaria's firefighting body, has informed that 40 Bulgarian firefighters are ready to be dispatched to Greece, if needed.
Italy has already reacted, becoming the first country to send help to tame the Greek wildfire.
Sunday Greeks are voting in general elections crucial for the country's economy and the eurozone future, right after Greece qualified for the second round of Euro 2012.
