Bulgaria Launches Casting for National Team Mascots

A contest has been launched in Bulgaria to select three girls that are to become mascots of the country's national football, basketball and volleyball teams.

"Miss National Football Team," "Miss National Basketball Team" and "Miss National Volleyball Team" are to be selected among 17 candidates at a final casting that is to take place on June 20.

A total of 784 candidates showed up for the initial casting. The organizers have pointed out that the girls had to be knowledgeable about sports.

Each "Miss National Team" will wear the title for a period of two years.
