The life of ousted Egypt President Hosni Mubarak is reported to be in danger, after he suffered a health breakdown upon receiving a life sentence June 2.

According to reports, Mubarak periodically lapses into unconsciousness in his hospital bed at the Torah prison in Cairo, say agencies Sunday.

A security officer is reported to have informed that Mubarak's wife Susan and two daughters in law have come Sunday morning to the hospital, after hearing rumors that Mubarak might have died.

Early June Hosni Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison for failing to prevent the killing of protesters in the 2011 uprising against his rule.

Some Egyptians welcomed the sentence, while others protested, being convinced that Mubarak must be convicted of intentional violence against his people, as well as of corruption.
