A photo by BGNES shows the explosion at a privately-owned ammunition depot near the Petolachkata road junction close to Sliven in Southeastern Bulgaria that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

Body parts have been allegedly spotted in the area of the ammunition depot explosions that occurred in Southeastern Bulgaria on Tuesday.

"We saw alleged body parts, but we could not reach them and we do not know for certain what they are," Yambol district prosecutor Georgi Handzhiev has told the 24 chasa daily.

"We have not found corpses or parts of corpses. We saw these bodies and DNA tests can be conducted on them. Having in mind the crater, if there were people in that first depot, they would be casualties now," he added.

Three of the ammunition depot's employees went missing and are now presumed dead despite the ongoing search effort.

However, Handzhiev believes that some of the missing employees may have been outside the building when the first blast took place, which could have saved their lives.

Tuesday's series of blasts occurred at a private-owned ammo site near the Petolachkata road junction close to Sliven, injuring 9 people, two of them critically.

The cause of the explosions is yet to be determined.
