A Serbian court on Monday sentenced three men to between 12 and 15 years in prison for war crimes against civilians during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The crimes in question were committed in 1992 in the city of Bijeljina, the Tanjug news agency reported.

The court found that on June 14, 1992, the three men broke into the house of a local Muslim, Ram Avdic, stole his money and raped his daughter and daughter-in-law.

They then shot dead Avdic, robbed one more home, raped the two women once again and escaped.

Prosecutors called the sentence "too light" and said they would appeal.
